IMo 2000

In July 2000 I participated in the IMO 2000 in Korea. IMO stands for International Mathematics Olympiad.

It is an annual competition for pre-university students from all over the world. This was the 41st edition. The IMO is the oldest Science olympiad. The Olympiads started as a competition for the East-Block countries in Europe. It started with seven countries, but in the 41st edition there already were 82 participating countries. All European and North-American countries that are at least as big as Luxemburg are participating. Only Africa has got very few participants, only two (Morocco and South-Africa).

During my stay in Korea I have written a diary, it is now available on-line. It is only available in Dutch.

I also made quite some photo's, you can view them on this page.
